Introduction

The New Development Bank was created by the BRICS block of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa in 2014. The bank's main goals are funding infrastructure projects, poverty alleviation, climate change mitigation and overall development to help poor formerly colonized countries in the global south. This June, it announced that three more countries will be officially joining as members including Argentina, Saudi Arabia and Zimbabwe.
