The Complexity of Genes
Genes do not provide a blueprint for building a person or building an animal. The genetic code only provides code for nucleic acids, that is RNA. There's a very long stage of interactions before we get from these blueprints to the actual finished product. If you could somehow just magically change all of your DNA, all of someone's DNA, immediately in one go, probably nothing would happen.
