The more data you have, the better your models are going to be. But for the average organization, I don't think you need big data. Don't start with the data and say, all this collect as much as possible. There is also a cost, a hidden cost behind it, because not just collecting it, but also storing it, maintaining it. Many people nowadays break privacy laws even without realizing they're doing it.
