Two years after judas, people are being told that christians shouldn't commune and worship together out of compassion for others. This is related almost directly to the story of judas - compromising worship in the name of something else. And this is a very, very fascinating thing, because you can see that it dives right into what christians believe. It tries to set those values up as the highest above what is more important, which is worship and submission to god. If you try to sacrifice the top part for the second part, you are going to break down.
