What Do You Think Schools Should Do?
In school, the administrator set the goal. And then the teachers ask their kids to set realistic expectations. We should do the opposite. The kids should set the goal and the teachers should raise the kids ambitions. I'm not saying that every single second of school should be self directed. No, there's good reasons to learn math. There's good reason to learn grammar. Don't just focus on language. What I believe is that we can teach those things way faster than we ordinarily do. If you don't believe me, go walk into a public school classroom right now and you'll see the astonishing lack of engagement that we have. That problem is that we advance kids before they're ready
