The Science of Chimps on Patrol Missions
In one experiment, scientists encouraged chimps to pull ropes that gave both them and their friend Ty a banana. In the second experiment, Kevin Langer-Graber studied why chimps go on patrol missions. After 20 years of studying almost 4,000 chimps in Uganda, the researchers discovered that more than 25% had no relatives in the group they were protecting.
