The last bit of your postdoc was this paper characterizing exactly how these sensory and motor volumes coordinate over different timescales. At the end of this work, I decided it would be fun to look at how visually guided animals underwater coordinated their sensory spaces with their locomotor spaces. And so we did the calculations and some estimates. It turned out that there's not a giant pie-shaped space in front of an animal when they're hunting for small bugs.
