Vile and Rand were almost mirror images of each other. Vile, on the one hand, she is an extreme altruist. On more than one occasion, she is looking to sacrifice herself for others or for her country. And yet both women believed in sort of the primacy of the individual. It was a thing that struck me throughout the book.
