The Box Is a Mean for What's the Line Again

Both Hellbound Heart and Hellraiser are fiction as a contrivance for the puncturing of various membranes, boundaries, surfaces. I love that so much because the mental image I have is of a bucket or a cup filled to the brim with water; one last drop breaks that tension. What's holding it together is tension, a kind of equipoise of tensions and forces. And you break that and you watch everything start to slop over and spill. It's often said that horror shares something with pornography insofar as it aims at eliciting a physical response.
