What Is and Isn't Scripture?

Trent: In my survey of 15 church fathers writing in the first 100 years of post-apostolic history, I only found six definite and three ambiguous formal citations of the New Testament as scripture. Protestants who believe in the formal sufficiency of scripture should reject soloscriptura because it is not taught in the Bible,. And the lack of biblical and patristic testimony shows there was no paradigm shift in early church towardssoloscriptura. Finally, the same kinds of evidence that would lead us to scriptures being an infallible rule of faith also show ecumenical tradition and the early Church councils are infallible rules of faith - thus showing Soloscriptura is false.
