There is a remarkable realism to the robin hood thos. The stories also take place in real settings, although the north is sort of idealized and seen through these southern eyes. There's also pretty realistic depiction of corrupt law courts and sheriffs that were owned by regional interests. And it was even, you could say, the norm earlier, the 12 hundreds,. as i'll talk about more later.
