The franchises have clearly taken over. If I was sitting in an executive chair, I would not hesitate to green light a spin off of something that is already a hit. What happens when everything is a franchise? Where are the new franchises? Or do you just remake and spin off perpetually in a downward spiral until everything is DC Marvel Super Mario Brothers?
