How Women Survived the Aids Crisis
Laura's story of survival is made even more markable when you consider the way women were treated, or not treated, in the early years of the aids crisis. For years, many women didn't show up in the official numbers and were prevented from accessing treatments and benefits. By 19 89, aides was the leading cause of death among black women ages 15 forty four in new york state and new jersey.
