There are people from every walk of life who struggle to accept something kind of dark about themselves. We see this not as a reality of growing up in a society with very specific pressures, but we see it as some sort of internal wrong. There's a huge amount to gain by looking inside and really working on these things because it totally transforms your relationships to other people when you do so.
