The Search and Rescue of John Edward Jones
A total of 137 rescuers had arrived at the scene and worked all day. All they could hear was john's slow, shallow breathing coming out from the small, dark tunnel. After every minute that passed, john's breathing continued to slow down. His cause of death was cardiac arrest from the strain placed on his body. The next day, local authorities decided that it was too dangerous to try and get john's body out of the cave. They use explosives to collapse the ceiling above john's body and sealed the entrance with a concrete plug. John's body is now forever sealed inside of the cave, and it now acts as his memorial.
