The dream gets hijacked by some function of the psyche at some point in the history of evolution when contradiction arises, and you realize. Our sexuality is Freud says polymorphously perverse, because it's that our sex, our meaning instinct is hijacked by all sorts of fantasies, libidinal investments. That's all like the unconscious kind of hijacks the basic mechanism of dreams and communicates through in weird ways.
