What's Happened to Strikes Since 2013?
The Obama administration put in place guidelines that restrict operations more than the law of war would permit. Since 2013, strikes have tapered off but picked up again when the United Arab Emirates joined the fight against AQAP. In Somalia, they picked up in the late teens and recently President Biden authorized strikes against a number of al-Shabaab leaders.
