Stuff You Missed in History Class

CHAPTER

Ruchmowski's Skeleton

Israel Ruchmowski created a tiny gold skeleton that took him almost five years to make. He also made an ornate coffin out of silver with a blue velvet lining. The Louvre did not get rid of the tiara after it was revealed to be a forgery in 1954. In 1997, both it and the tiara were included in an exhibit in Jerusalem titled The Secret of the Golden Tiara Works by Israel Rochmowski.
