I spent a lot of my life like trying to write when I was in my you know teens 20s 30s um and you know I wrote short stories or I wrote novels. But before I came back to the UK to do the creative writing masters at UVA, I was working on a novel. Being accepted to the MA gave me this confident confidence boost and so I ended up writing finishing a whole novel. The process for what became Four Seasons in Japan worked beautifully for me.
