The Night Monster

According to the tale, she was set free to seduce men in their sleep only to have the offspring of the unholy union killed. In retaliation and vengeance, she did indeed terrorize young and healthy mothers as they gave birth to their first children. One could brush all of this off as a common tale told through history to explain lasting fear from a bad dream. I though am inclined to give these old stories more credit because even today with all of our modern knowledge of the mind and our pseudo-scientific evolutionary framework of reality these things still happen to people,. many people in fact from different backgrounds and walks of life.
