The Prince of Catalonia and the Prince of Aragon
In the high middle ages, small christian kingdoms and principalities in the north of spain are gradually expanding. One theory is that those names were combined into this new name, catalan. The counts of barcelona came to be called sort of a rulers or leaders or princes of the catalans. They also begin to conquer and annex more territories around them.
