I moved to the states when I was 10. So this is the mid 80s It was 1984 and I mean i'm a verb i'm brown That was already challenging enough coming to terms with that identity. Because I hadn't ever grown up in either of my home countries, you know, I really wasn't equipped To defend myself. And so that's what I did when I started working overseas. I said well You know, I'm just going to start in this place because this is as much my place as any other place.
