There is a bit of an attitude that if we just have enough information and we prove the moral correctness of something that people in power will make the right decision. Well, the caging up of asylum seekers in Australia and the US and the removal of children from their families are not alone enough. The state has its own interests in why it manages something like population movements which are nothing to do with whether it's morally right to cross the border or not but actually about the economic interests of accumulation in a particular geography.
