Is Everything the Same as It Ever Was?

The terms in which we can conceive of organizing for a better world are radically shifting. And then, on the other hand, i think it's also perfectly fair to say that everything is pretty much the same as it ever is. I know that statement likely doesn't mean a whole lot at the very moment, but developing it and justifying it, in substantiating it, is the purpose of the series.
