The Double Asteroid Redirection Test

NASA sent a probe towards an asteroid in orbit around another asteroid. The idea was that we would ram into it at full speed and slow it down enough to measure the change in its orbit. It's 6.8 million miles away from Earth, 11 million kilometers away. "It was a very exciting moment to watch something smash into seven million miles away"
