Berlin was, for almost a decade, the chichely professor of political thought. Both admirers and critics often said they weren't entirely sure what it was that berlin thought he was professing. He wanted to nomore at the end of his life than at the beginning. It was to be tho ly vulgar. And, with apologies to his shade, political theory is a form of psycho drama.
