The Sutton Ho Burial Changes Image of the Middle Ages in Europe and Britain
The helmet and baptismal spoons were placed on either side of the head, atop each shoulder. So there's this evocation of the transition from non christian to christian. The sutton ho burial really ecaptulates the middle ages in miniature. It shows that there was great power and wealth in these societies despite the lack of any monuments as we would think of them.
