The oak lace bug has been around since 2015, but the damage caused was more notable this year. "It's been here for a while and we'll have those years where it looks kind of bad," he says. But most importantly, oak is a deciduous tree that drops its leaves every year. The premature loss of these leaves or the damage to these trees is not that big of a deal because they're just going to drop their leaves.
