The Kremlin's War in Ukraine
Kremlin's war in Ukraine has acquired an unusual dimension. During the period of open warfare from 2014 to 2015, Russia and Ukraine maintained diplomatic relations. As the Kremlin adopted a new survival strategy through containment of the West, Ukraine became the red line against liberal democracy. Bitter irony is that Berlin and Paris have been justifying this paradoxical situation when the country aggressor at the same time has been mediator.
