Aesocytidine and HSPCs in MDS and CMML Patients

Whether highly mutated HSPCs can mature normally in response to aesocytidine or whether there is increased output from cells with fewer or no mutations is an important unresolved question within the literature. The study used index sorting and single-cell genotyping to characterize the somatic mutations in individual stem and progenitor cells, as well as circulating monocytes, neutrophils, and B cells isolated from patients with MDS and CMML. Patients were studied before and after aescytidine treatment.
