The Importance of Prayer
As a child, my brother and I resented being dragged to the service for three hours where it's going on in a language that neither my brother or I nor my parents understand. The familiarity of those incantations and I don't know. It's all utterly mysterious. To me prayer is a form of just being open. I don't try to convert anybody. But I especially choose to embrace their rituals because I think they're healing.
