Is There a Relationship Between Religion and Violence?

In one of the stories, called the tale of dully's reversion, you have a line in there where he wondered why god had made humans so mallable. So i was wondering about the relationship between this strong belief in god and violence. This is something that comes up in every single religion, no matter what it is you believe in,. It would be the overall question. And then beyond that, like, ah, when i'm thinking through sort of more theology, theological questions regarding, like, you know, islam, in the nature of creation and the nature of existence - how does one bring that together?
