The Contaminant Hypothesis of Modern Obesity
Will the contaminant hypothesis of modern obesity be judged true by expert consensus before 2032? It's currently showing a 5% chance. The first version of this blog post argued that, contrary to the SMTM authors, there wasn't an abrupt shift in obesity rates in the late 20th century. I changed this after realising that Murak Brubwich is a statistician and John Comlos is an economic historian. And we don't need contaminants to explain the effective altitude on body weight or other geospatial patterns in the prevalence of obesity. This was an audio version of, on not getting contaminated by the wrong obesity ideas by Natalia Coelho Mendonza.
