Isolated Cortical Vein Thrombosis

The characteristic finding for deep cerebral venous thrombosis is bilateral thalamic edema. Up to 20% of cases are idiopathic, so the absence of risk factors does not rule out the diagnosis. The most commonly observed findings in the prinkema are vasogenic and cytotoxic edema which can coexist as well as intraparinkimal hemorrhage.
