Having Less Black Boxes in PTP Is a Good Idea
PTP relies for its extra accuracy on the switches. It seems like in some sense the design of PTP violates this old end-to-end property. The less complexity you can ask people who have to go in and do this terrifying thing of modifying the network, the less complicated it is. And another aspect of it is having less black box systems involved.
