Prakaptan Marcus wrote a short meditation on the meaning of civility. He says that once you have accepted stoic principles, your mind no longer creates new instances of these things. This is more aspirational than prescriptive and it does come off as an elitist idea to some people who may not be familiar with Stoicism. The suggestion that a stoic's life is always fulfilled, and we are ready to die at any moment because they could say what was important to us or which were important to them before they died.
