When you wrote the first one, the first John Cleaver book, I'm like, this is probably the most horrifying thing I've ever read. And then you read the second one. Yep, I am convinced that the devil's only friend is actually referring to you. They've gotten worse and worse than in a good way. Yeah, by worse and worse he does mean better and better. The basic character hook of I have to take care of Brooke now is what drives most of this second trilogy.
