Is This Really a Gen Server?
Elixir's Phoenix client is kind of abstracted or taken out of the nervous project. We were actually at work using Phoenix client and we just couldn't get like the disconnect logic we needed. So we ended up trying a different one called web sock X which gave us all of that stuff that we needed, but it was like a fake gen server. And then when we came across slipstream, we were like, Oh, this is actually a gen server. It actually works. The concept of socket and assigns on the con as well.
