The Future of Autism Research

I was just reading about this paper yesterday which is from a group of autistic researchers and they are talking a lot about shifting the terminology. Instead of using terminologies which are sort of restrictive and ableist in its way like restrictive interests circumscribed interests or things like that, we're going to use more descriptive words such as "focused interest" I also feel how early career researchers are already invested in this model of partnership collaboration and authentic partnership with autistic researchers. The medical model has its place when it's a medical challenge but to help sort of practitioners understand when to shift and how to shift is I think that's where the field is going hopefully goes.
