Is Your Information Architecture a Collaborative Function?

i find it striking that you're talking about how you feel like your role is to democratize information architecture. Nd, not so much to own it. I went through many years banging my head against my desk, trying to own the information architecture for the projects and teams that i was assigned to. And what i found was that that was a real, not only was it an uphill battle, but it actually created sort of an impossible situation. A good information architect understands that without collaboration, you're just architecting a structure that makes sense to you.
