Einstein's theory of relativity holds true even for geosynchronous satellites. The fact that they're higher above Earth wins over the fact that they are moving fast. Even if you take gravity out of the story and you send one into space, it will show different amounts of elapsed time. In a sense, the person carrying the clock on the round-trip journey has traveled into the future.
