Is There a Pattern in the Universe?
When the cosmic microwave background radiation was first detected, they actually thought it was a problem with the receiver they were using. They discovered that there were a pair of pigeons nesting in their telescope and they deposited what they rather primarily referred to in a paper as white dielectric material on the telescope. There was a pattern and they weren't really believing it. So maybe we have this sort of mechanism of not trusting seeing a pattern because we know that we have different conceptions of finding patterns anywhere. It's these little details in the way that the patterns starting to be recognized and developed I think can be some of the most sort of fun and surprising aspects as you go into and find out more about
