Glamos K Beads in the British Museum

The Glamos K beads are basically the earliest necklace in the entire world, which I think is mind-blowing. With the end of the apartheid regime and the flow of information out of South Africa that wasn't there before, we've now got much greater knowledge and able to do something like this. It's not an exhibition that could have been done 30 years ago. Blomboss Cave and other sites like it in Southern Africa have preserved some of the earliest evidence of artistic thought and production of anywhere in the world. Around 100,000 years ago, there was an Oka processing kit, which was beef for making Oka paint - red paint made from earth and fat.
