The Public Don't Know What the Fuck They Want With Tax
In Wenkwa-Teng's whole mini budget, which is now a notice being just referred to as a budget, was polled recently. Individual policies were popular apart from the top rate cut and lifting the cap on bankers' bonuses. Because voters do like paying less tax on the whole. If you were really to try and fix our tax system, which urgently, profoundly needs fixing, you would start upsetting lots of people who want a much simpler, more open, more transparent, comprehensible tax system. So the truth is, they don't know what the fuck they want with tax. When it looks like you've got a bad market reaction of the basis of tinkering around with them
