Brett Weinstein went viral online for opposing a protest that asked white students and faculty to stay home as part of a symbolic protest against white supremacy. He resigned, sued the school, and got a bunch of money in a settlement. The Foundation for Individual Rights and Education found that in 2018, there were a grand total of 18 disinvitation attempts across all colleges and universities in the United States. Young people are more tolerant of offensive speech than older Americans.
