Is There a Black Professor in the UK?

In the early 80s you and your mother moved to Lancashire for secondary school. You were one of just three black students at that school, so racism became part of your everyday life. It was a tricky time but it helped me build an armour for what was to come in later years because I made career choices that meant that I would always be very much in the minority. In UK physics sector there are no black professors whatsoever. And then if you look at across the whole of science 0.6% of UK professors are black whereas 8% of science undergraduates are black. So yes I'm stunned that things really haven't changed that much and arguably maybe have gone backwards. Yes
