The Crossover Between Trauma and ADHD
There is almost always not completely but almost always no single ADHD gene. In vanishingly rare cases, there's solely genetic course. But the consensus is that it's almost never solely genetic unless you ask Alex who was a slightly different professional opinion. The combination of dozens and actually maybe hundreds of mutations in our DNA plus an environmental trigger leads to ADHD developing. These environmental factors are called correlates or associations because there's not enough evidence they can actually cause ADHD to develop on their own.
