The Seven Day Week
In the 18 hundreds, if you examine the records of witness testimony during trials, you will see a trend toward people having a stronger memory for what day of the week something happened. Some business interests in the west in the late nineteenth century wanted to get rid of the seven day week because it caused problems in bookkeep. And he also says, across this period, letters begin to show a greater preference for organizing recent memories by weeks instead of other time scales.
