The Importance of the War in the Industrial Revolution

The myth of the Garden of Eden before the Industrial Revolution has been shaken too by our increasing appreciation of the texture of poverty in the pre-industrial world. If we don't know anything about what it was like before, we can't make a comparison and more and more research is now being done into economic history prior to the Industrial Revolution.
