"I'm covered in his blood, his gut. I'm picking pieces of skull out of my mouth," David recalls about the Fallujah attack. He says he was holding John's hand as they were taken to a field trauma hospital just outside Fallujah. "The next thing you know, we're both on the operating table and I'm holding his hand... And he just died." The actor didn't walk for another year after suffering from PTSD while taking painkillers.
